SHAKEN AS WE ARE is a free-form, forum-based role-playing game that combines dystopic science-fiction with an lgbtq-community emphasis. Set in a world ruled by a global theocracy, the game focuses on the residents of Chicago - particularly of its Boystown neighborhood, where individuals who screen positive for lgbtq genetic markers are kept segregated from the general population.

We consider our players advanced/literate/etc, and thus don't have a minimum word count or an awful lot of rules. However, for the sake of collecting a relatively small group of good writers who aren't in constant need of policing and supervision, the game is primarily invite-only. It's nothing personal. When we've cleared our schedules and taken our pills and know we can efficiently and sanely cope with new applicants, we'll occasionally have open-registration periods.
